AGM

Our AGM will be held in Jan. The reason for not having it in November as normally would occur is because the current committee want to ensure that as many things are put in place prior to a new committee coming on board. The major focus for the current committee is securing funding to resurface our ground and add irrigation, as well things like securing a new major sponsor, ordering jumpers etc. I will advise of the AGM date closer to the event.

2012 Committee

Last year our committee had to work overtime due to a limited involvement from players, parents and supporters, so in 2012 our aim is to get as many people involved as possible and share the load around. If you are interested in being involved in some way shape or form (don't necessarily mean you have to be on the committee) then we would most welcome the opportunity to talk to your about the various roles and the minimal time involved etc. Remember - its your club and without your help and support we cant realise our full potential.....

Senior Coach

Yesterday I accepted the opportunity to continue as Senior Coach for a third year. Having seen the foundation put in place over the past two years I am extremely confident that from a senior team perspective we can build on that next year and without a doubt our aim will be to win the senior premiership, having not won one since 2008.  Hopefully our reserves can emulate their efforts of this year and no doubt our colts will be thereabouts this season.

Coaching Roles

Last year's reserves coach Jamie Fogg has indicated that wont seek to reappointment as he wants to simply enjoy a year just playing. Likewise, Matt Creeper wont be continuing as senior Asst Coach due to increased work commitments. This season I'm hoping to have two senior assistant coaches and an assistant reserves coach to help support the reserves coach, so all of those positions are vacant at the moment. If you have any interest at all please feel free to give me a call to discuss in more detail.

Junior coaching roles will also be advertised soon, however, if you have any interest please don't hesitate in letting me know ASAP.

Pre Season Training

My experience of the past two years suggests that any formal pre-season training prior to Christmas isn't the best idea, mainly due to the fact that with an April start to the season players find it too long, therefore pre-season will commence on Tuesday 10 Jan at 5.30pm at our ground and continue every Tuesday and Thursday from there on. Please bring joggers and boots to every session until notified otherwise. Due to pre season being shorter to that of previous years it will be more intense from the outset, so I'd certainly encourage you to get as much fitness work into your legs prior to Jan 10. With this being my third year at the helm I intend to freshen things up a bit and add some new initiatives to both pre season and regular season training, this not repetitious from previous years.  This coming season we will be better equipped to cater for injured players in terms of maintain aerobic fitness, so if your injured I encourage you to still attend training so we can give you modified training where possible your injuries can be treated and assessed.

Christmas Drinks

We are planning on having a club get together at Molly Malones in the city (one of our sponsors) on Saturday December 10th at 7.30pm. It would be great to see as many people from our club there, likewise any new players etc would be most welcome to come along. It would be great to see a good turnout.

I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Go Tigers !
