UNIVERSITY will be eyeing off a rare piece of history when they battle Hermit Park for the AFL Townsville premiership at Tony Ireland Stadium today.

Not only will the Hawks vie for back-to-back titles, but a win would secure them a fifth Skilled Premiership in six seasons, making them one of the most successful teams ever.

Only Currajong's five consecutive crowns between 1975-79 would out-do the effort.
